When the Great Raja Raja, gave Vanthiyathevan a kingdom to rule, under cholas. The kigdom had its Capital as 'Brahmadhesam' and this is near Ranipet/Kanchipuram/Cheyyar region. Co-incidentaly 'Valla'kottai, is on its way to Kanchipuram from Tambaram (Tamapuram).
