i bought a book from varthaman pathipagam called thirumurai thalangkal
they gave a map of devara sthalangkal
you wouldnt beleive how useful it was
for example such shiva temples are classified as kaviri vadakarai- north bank and thenkarai- south bank usually.
in the map thiruvanaika temple in srirangam island and thayamanasamy temple in trichy uchi pillaiyar temple are 2 km away but in the list they are about eighty temples away.
I recently bought a book from Narmadha Pathipagam called "108 Divya Desams" or "108 Thirupathi's".
This book lists all the 106 thirupathis (other two are believed to be in the heaven) with its location, route from a nearby known city/town, sthala varalaru, constructed-by details etc. For some very small temples they even give a map.
Another source which I got recently is the Kumudam Bhakthi book which is bi-weekly. For the last two months they give a small supplementary issue about temples in each district in TN. For Trichy district the number of temples were more and it came for two editions. That small book also includes a very descriptive map, details and pictures of the temples. I am actually collecting those maps of every district.
shore has only Shiva temples and southern shore has Vishnu temples...Amazing !!
Wow.. Would be great if we could somehow work towards a consolidation of all this information. Hmm Will see if I can ask my dad to buy this book and shoot it over to me.
